"Dream, Invent, and Explore"
Proctor Jr.-Sr. High School  is a public school nestled in the heart of the Marble Valley of Vermont. The high school incorporates students in grades seven through twelve from Proctor and the surrounding communities of Ira, Chittenden, Mendon and Rutland Town. Proctor students are very fortunate to have a small student-teacher ratio and yet still have a variety of elective classes. Proctor is best known for its success with our athletic and band programs, as well as placing students in prestigious post-graduate programs and colleges.

This year Proctor Jr./Sr. High School is in its second year of implementing Project Based Learning (PBL).  If you're interested in learning more about PBL, check out the links on the 'Resources' tab at the top of this page.

In Early May, Leo Therrien's writing was showcased along with five other southern Vermont students as a part of Weston Playhouse's Vermont Young Playwrights Festival. Leo's play "The War Pigs" takes place in pre-World War II Germany, where 15-year-old Isaac, a Jewish orphan, must decide between his morals and helping the greater cause with his new friend Katey. However, their mission is consistently interrupted by two Nazi soldiers on a mission to kill Katey and convert Isaac to their side. Leo was the youngest student chosen to have his 10-minute play read aloud to an audience and he was then given the opportunity to debrief with artistic director Steve Stettler. Stettler acknowledged Leo's age, noting that the play was mature and poignant for a beginning writer. Additionally, he noted that the play had "big risks, dark humor, and a strong violence and action driven plot." Congratulations to Leo on his hard work and succeeding in this incredible accomplishment!
